Elizabeth was determined. She needed a safer, more supportive walker—and she had heard that Devices 4 the Disabled could help. But traveling down the street with her unstable, poorly adjusted wheeled walker was difficult and unsafe.

That’s when Betty appeared. Riding past on her bike, she noticed Elizabeth struggling and immediately stopped. Without hesitation, she walked beside her, step by step, making sure she reached D4D safely. What began as a simple act of kindness became a beautiful reminder of human connection.

When Elizabeth arrived, our team outfitted her with a properly fitted rollator—giving her stability, safety, and independence she hadn’t felt in months. As the two women talked, they discovered they even shared the same middle name. But what truly bonded them was compassion, generosity, and the simple decision to help a stranger.
