Supporting Benella's Journey
1:23

Living with a Huntington's Disease, a progressive neurological condition that increasingly affects her posture, movement, and mobility, Benella came to Devices 4 the Disabled in need of mobility equipment that will support evolving needs. A standard manual wheelchair no longer provided the support she needed. Sitting upright for long periods was difficult and painful. Her posture was shifting, her muscles tightening, and her ability to safely reposition herself gone.

Her family and caregivers shared their growing worry about how to keep her comfortable, safe, and supported.

At D4D, we knew a tilt-in-space wheelchair would make a tremendous difference. This specialized chair allows the entire seat and backrest to tilt as one unit, giving Benella:

  • essential pressure relief

  • improved breathing and positioning

  • better comfort throughout the day

  • reduced risk of falls or sliding out of the chair

  • support that adapts to her changing mobility needs

When she was fitted into her tilt-in-space chair, the relief on her face—and the gratitude from her loved ones—was unmistakable.

This equipment isn’t just mobility.
It’s comfort, safety, dignity, and quality of life.

Because of the cycle of compassion at Devices 4 the Disabled, Benella can navigate her days with greater ease and enjoy far more comfort than she’s had in a long time.
