This year, Devices 4 the Disabled expanded its commitment to inclusion through a meaningful partnership with Governors State University’s Jaguar Jumps program. Jaguar Jumps is a bridge program for students with disabilities to transition from high school to college and career pathways. This meaningful partnership supports young adults with intellectual disabilities by preparing them for the workforce—and at D4D, participants gain hands-on experience in a supportive, empowering environment. Dr. Robbie O’Shea, PT, DPT, PhD, Hon. Conductor, our Director of Clinical Services launched the program at GSU and oversees the internship program at D4D.
Interns help with equipment processing, organization, and daily operations—discovering new strengths, building confidence, and developing workplace skills that open doors to long-term independence.
Our team has been inspired by their dedication and joy. Their impact is felt not only in the work they do, but in the spirit they bring to our entire community. D4D is honored to play a role in helping these young adults contribute to society, discover their capabilities, and prepare for brighter futures.
